The Fur Flies As Baseball Officials Testify

The report every baseball fan wanted to read has caused a lot of foul balls and gained momentous attention after superstars such as Roger Clemens vehemently disregard the statement as false and inaccurate.

Clemons himself isn't looking to place fingers on his fellow baseball team-mates or athletes but clearing his own name has become the number one priority in which Clemons has been vocally active. This comes even after Clemons trainer gave detailed information to officials gathering information for the Mitchell report.

Since the Mitchell report was released several players have come forward and denounced the claims but further specific investigations are currently on hold due to negotiation formalities by attorneys. Senator Mitchell on the other hand has firmly placed the turmoil into the lap of the Major Baseball League as well as the players association. Mitchell does create a public statement congratulating Bud Selig for the development of the program which will continue to investigate this matter that seems to be fairly deep-seated with the MLB Association.

Both Selig and player's association Executive Director, Don Fehr, said they accept responsibility for the growth of steroid use.

Fehr responded this way when the question was asked by Republican Congressman Patrick McHenry:

McHenry: "Do you two feel complicit in the rise of steroid use in major league baseball?"

Fehr: "As I indicated in my testimony, we didn't pay enough attention to it soon enough. If that fits your definition of complicit then the answer is yes."

Tony Romo Sacked For Lack Of Concentration

Tony Romo is no doubt one of the star quarterbacks in the NFL today but the golden-boy for the Dallas Cowboys has come under increasing scrutiny after the Cowboys lost their playoff opportunities during their recent game with the New York Giants.

Romo was reported to have flown to Mexico to spend time with his girlfriend Jessica Simpson before the Cowboys lost their shot at the Superbowl to the Giants last week. Scrutiny and even sabotage have been noted for Romo's lack of concentration and focus on current matters other than his new romance. Rumors run rampant and upset fans look for angles that are quickly supplied by the media. Reports have gone as far as to blame Joe Simpson, Jessica's father and manager, of leaking the story to the paparazzi for extended coverage of his own daughter. Whether or not this sabotaged the Cowboys chance for further play in this year's NFL season is pure speculation but fans agree Romo should have stuck to the playbook and concentrated on the game.

The end of the season for the Cowboys seem to be punctuated by Terrell Owens during the press conference after the game where T.O. let the emotions flow and tears spilled like the Cowboy's hopes of winning the Superbowl.

 The Next Ice Bowl

Over forty years ago football fans were treated to a game that would later be dubbed the Ice Bowl as temperatures coupled with windchill factors dropped the mercury to a negative 46 degrees farenheit. In this historic game the legendary Bart Starr dove into the end zone to finalize and major win for the Green Bay Packers against the Dallas Cowboys. History looked as though it might repeat itself with the Packers and Cowboys once again going head to head in this seasons playoff games until the New York Giants came along and crushed the hopes of Tony Romo and the crew. This left a sobbing Terrel Owens crying during the post-game interview and gave Green Bay the advantage of hosting their next game at home.

As fate would have it the rivalry between the Packers and Cowboys won't be revisited but, according to weather reports, we may be able to re-live a taste of that famous game. With temperatures forecasted to be hovering around the zero mark and moderate winds projected we're sure to see an interesting game. Windchill factors pushing the temps well below zero will definately hinder ball handling ability for both teams but will this benefit either team?

Some critics says this will give Green Bay and advantage especially when considering they're also playing at home but don't count the Giants out just yet. Reports note the Giants creating statements that they're walking into this game with an underdog attitude and that may be all that's needed to create a spark of enthusiasm that lights the fire to a great late-season playoff football game.
